This will be my 5th year participating in the event and it continues to be a cause close to my heart because of the hardships I witnessed first-hand throughout my brother?s youth. Growing up in a low-income household, navigating the health care system and getting access to the right treatments were far from easy and often his mental health issues were dismissed or belittled, delaying the much needed support he required.

Knowing that as many as 1.2 million Canadian youth suffer with mental illness and 4 out of 5 of these individuals are not receiving the care they need, it is more important than ever to continue our collective support for programs like the Family Navigation Project at Sunnybrook who are rising to meet this challenge.
