Unfortunately, as many as 1.25 million youth in Canada will experience some form of mental health problem. This reality is further exacerbated by the fact that ONLY 3/5 of these youths will get the treatment they need.
Sadly, this means that there are likely people within my community--and yours--who's living in pain without access to treatment.
To try and mitigate this disparity, I’m participating in RBC Race for the Kids, a charity fundraising race that supports youth mental health.
I’m raising money for Sunnybrook's Family Navigation Project. This free service connects youth aged 11 to 29 experiencing mental health and addictions issues, and their families, with clinically trained navigators who help them access the services they need, when they need it.
The Family Navigation Project is 100% funded by donations from caring people like you.
Your donation through my fundraising page helps ensure that young people and their families find the mental health care and addiction services they need.
I believe we all benefit when we help young people. When you make a donation through RBC Race for the Kids, you’re helping change — and save — the lives of young people affected by mental illness and addiction.
Thank you so much for your support of the Family Navigation Project and RBC Race for the Kids.
Elysse :)
